Lockout before touching the screen is the control. OSHA's lockout/tagout standard, 29 CFR 1910.147, expects hazardous energy to be isolated and verified before anyone services or clears this kind of equipment. A sign at the point of work reminds the person in front of the machine of that step, and supports your written procedures and training.

Where to post this sign

Post it at the headworks screen, on the rail or platform where operators reach in to clear debris. Mount it at eye level where it is visible before the person reaches the hazard, and replace it if it is damaged or no longer legible.

Who uses this sign

Wastewater operators, headworks technicians, municipal utility crews and pump station maintenance staff.

Related signs

DANGER Bucket Elevator Boot Sign

DANGER Chain Scraper Channel Sign

DANGER Chipper Knife Access Sign

Browse all safety signage guides
Shop all DANGER signs

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0788/2771/6852/files/danger-bar-screen-rakes-sign-can-start-automatically-8x12-aluminum-7597479.jpg?v=1793667251
